Barbecue Expo 2012: 1st day results
In the morning, before the exhibition opening an impressive spit for bull roasting was assembled in front of the Pavilion 5 in “Expocentre” fairgrounds. This non-standard construction was made by “Vertel” company that has been working in the Russian market for several years, manufacturing open fire cooking products.
The official exhibition opening ceremony began at 12.00. Sergey Yushin, chairman of the executive committee of the National Meat Association of Russia; Alexander Konstantinov, president of the Ukrainian Barbecue Association, Artem Engoyan, president of the Russian Barbecue Association, Elmar Fetscher, chief editor of Fire&Food magazine, Mikhail Strigoun, executive director of “Euroexpo”, Elena Shabardina, head of “Expocentre” hosted exhibitions division, were among the honoured guests who welcomed the exhibitors and guests.
After the opening ceremony many visitors moved to the master-classes area where the bull on a spit had being roasted, emitting spicy aroma of grilled meat over the whole “Expocentre” territory and attracting more and more visitors. And in the evening exhibitors and visitors enjoyed a real meat feast!
The diverse cooking master classes were held within the exhibition programme, represented by two well-known grill bosses: Kirill Martynenko, chief consultant, managing partner of “Torro Grill” restaurants, and Vyacheslav Delberg, brand chief of “RPCOM”. The experts shared with the visitors information about the modern technologies of calves growing, how they influence the meat quality, how to choose meat, how to prepare meat for grilling and, of course, how to serve a meat dish.
At the end of each master class all the guests and exhibitors had an opportunity to taste the cooked dish.
